My goal, when I first started this business several years
ago, was to be the ‘go to manufacturer’ for full contact fighters.This meant that PrimeTime MMA Gear had to be 'best of class'. To meet this goal I had to step out of the box and redesign everything from padding to the function of the glove.Anyone can go to Pakistan or China and put a brand on some generic product. But very few people can create a new product segment, complete with unique high quality items and have them made to specifications. I can and I did.
To reach this goal I went to the toughest trainers and coaches to
find out what they wanted in full contact gear. Since I had trained with so many people
around the country, I simply picked up the phone and made a few visits to some
key people-the most important of which was to the United States Marine Corp.
I had met many MACE trained soldiers during my travels and I
knew that some of the toughest and smartest 'fighting machines' taught
martial arts in Quantico.It was during one
of these visits that I had my ‘eureka moment’. We were in a conference room
going over specifications for gear when an instructor walked into the room with
an ammo box.This box was wrapped in a
rubber compound and I asked what it was used for.The
answer stopped me in my tracks.The
rubber coating was used to protect ammo that were thrown off
airplanes.
Wow! Once I heard that, I could only imagine how it would protect a fighters hands! But, it was too thick and dense. It certainly couldn’t be used in MMA or boxing gloves.But, I had my mind made up. This was the stuff! I made inquiries
around the world to find the right material, had it made to my specifications and
applied it to all kinds of gear.It took
about 18 months to perfect, but once fighters and trainers put on our gloves
or shinpads they knew it was a great product.Lightweight, thin and hugely shock absorbent. Many continue to say that it’s the best glove they’ve ever used or are amazed at the protection the Combat Pad provides. They had never felt anything like it

In fact, our Level 4 MMA gloves which are featured in Amateur MMA and Cross Training, are, at this writing, the only MMA gloves that wear the seal of approval for two International MMA sanctioning bodies - The WKA (World Kickboxing Association) and KIAMA (KICK International).
Today, the Combat Pad still provides outstanding hand
protection as it continues to offer soft and flexible, ‘super’ shock absorbing padding for all kinds of equipment.No one had anything like it then and to this
day the copycats still can'ts seem to knock us off. Others have tried, but no one has put together a Cross Training
glove or Amateur Fight Glove like PrimeTime’s Level 4 series of product.Some look like ours, but once you put it on you'll be able to tell the difference right away. Plus, no one seems to have
put together this package of shock absorbing padding, quality leather and
